What is 'well concealed cash' and how do i send them through mail?
Well concealed cash is basically normal cash that is normally put in between pieces of paper and put inside an envelope together with an order form and maybe a letter. The envelope is then send to the diy distro mailing address through normal mail to make payments for the things that you want to buy.
I am afraid of putting cash in envelope and sending it to you.
Sending well concealed cash to make payments has been a method used by zinesters, punks and many diy distros for so many years. If you are afraid of sending cash through mail, here are a few tips that you can follow. I have been using these practices for so long and have never gotten my cash stolen at the post office when I send my well concealed cash.
Tip No.1 : Use dark coloured paper to conceal your cash!
Instead of using just normal plain white paper to put your cash in between, use dark coloured construction papers or tear off a page from a magazine. Place your cash in between more than one layer of magazine paper or construction paper if you must and them place it into your envelope. In this way, there is no one can figure out that there is cash inside your envelope.
Tip No.2: Try not to send in coins.
As much as you possibly can, try to avoid sending in coins. If possible, try to round off the payable amount to the nearest dollar. If you really need to use coins, tape them well onto the envelope in between a few pieces of paper until no one can figure out that you have coins inside your envelope.
Tip No.3: Send your mail through registered mail.
By sending your envelope as a registered mail, there is no way your envelope with with cash inside can ever get lost. Even better, you can track your envelope to see whether it has reached me. My local postal provides this service but I am not sure about other countries.
What on earth is registered mail?
Registered mail is a postal service provided by my local post office. It is a way to make sure that whatever mail that you send out arrives to its destination. For my case I use it to send your order provided that you want your order to be send via registered mail. In that way I can track you order in case you have not received it yet.
If however you choose not to send it via registered mail, I wont hold myself responsible if your order got lost in the post office.
Registered mail costs $2.20 but it's worth is if your order is huge or if you are an international customer.
I am having problems printing your email. I do not have any access to any printer.
If you have difficulty in printing the email message, just use a normal piece of paper and write these information:
1) Your Name
2) Order Number (Can be obtained from my email reply)
3) Mailing Address ( I will send your order to this address)
4) Total Amount Payable (Can be obtained from my email reply)
How do you price your zines?
How I price my zines depends on how much zines (in terms of quantity) I take in per title. Simply to say if I take in a certain title in huge amounts, I sell them cheaply. Whatever it is, I try to stick close to the original selling price of the zine and if not, lower. I don't overprice my zines.
